The Raven Gallows books are such a fun middle grade mystery series! The characters are unique and relatable (I especially love Raven, a young scientist/detective who lives at a funeral home and collects skulls, and Cosmina, her best friend/sparkly fashionista/young medium), and the world is impressively built out and unique. The first book is a classic standalone with a sequel, with a fantastic hook into the rest of the series.
