Before reading any of his poems, I didn’t expect them to be so whimsical (in the darkest way possible) and to make my tongue tingle as I read them (please, please read his poems aloud to yourself, tasting the language. It will be an experience you will never forget). Hot take, he has poems that are way freakier than “The Raven,” such as “The Conqueror Worm.” My favorite is “A Dream Within a Dream.”
