Babel is an adult alternate history that starts with the MC as a kid. It mostly takes place at Oxford in the 1800s and has a really cool language-based magic system, but it’s about so much more. Racism, sexism, colonialism, fighting for the hope to make a change, to face empires… It’s unpredictable and devastating and intense. Truly tragic, truly powerful. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time.
